Iftar Of Champions

Fri Jun 26, 2015, 12:10 PM

Greetings fellow Deviants!

I didn't have the heart to spam my wonderful friends and watchers by dumping a large number of photos on DA all at once.  So to save everyone the torturous task of clicking through all 21 images, and hopefully prevent you from the agony of viewing them one by one, I've put together a quick photojournal instead for your viewing pleasure. Hope you  like it.

RK

The following pictures were taken at an Iftar banquet for labourers at a privately owned parking lot adjacent to Al Ghubaiba Metro Bus Station in Bur Dubai, U.A.E. as part of a citywide campaign by members of the community to ensure that no worker, regardless of race, creed, or religion, sleeps hungry during the holy month of Ramadan.
Note: I don't know if this was a government sponsored event or an independently funded one because... well, I forgot to ask. (Hey, I was too busy taking pictures, okay?)
The meal of the day included, Hyderabadi Chicken Biryani, Fragrant Rice Pulao , with a side helping of deep fried Spicy Potato Fritters (Pakora), one apple and orange slice each, and of course, three dates per plate.
Bottled water, soft drinks (Fanta Orange mostly), and Laban Up, a terribly salty but surprisingly refreshing buttermilk drink were also served as refreshments.

Ah, well... that's life, my friend. But no worries, there's always another day.
Hope to see you in our little city soon.
Till then, may you have the best trip of your life! :highfive:
And if possible, be sure to keep a lookout for this fella --> burningmonk<--- prowling the streets of Japan. :D

Blessings for the favour, Boss :iconwineplz:

Having just watched "Atlantic: the Wildest Ocean on Earth" on the BBC. I googled  Colin Foord, a marine biologist with a passion for coral. I hope this link works morphologicstudios.com/index.p…

The whole series is well worth watching, if you can get hold of the three progs.
