I was at the typing center just outside the Dubai Immigration Office in Al Jafliya, when I saw this kid standing there by himself, staring at either me or his reflection - I couldn't really tell, because there was a large glass display window between us.

So I quickly handed over all the required papers for the residence visa application (for my Mom) over to the lady typist, telling her to, "Hold on to these papers for a while, will ya? I'm going to go outside and shoot that little kid."
The expression on the nice lady's face was epic!

After I had taken the shot, I noticed that Jonathan, the boy's Dad was busy talking on the cellphone, I thought I'd better finish up the pending paperwork and get back to him later, which I eventually did, and it was, so to say, quite an interesting meeting...

It turns out that Jonathan hails from a Pakistani Christian family in Karachi, but was born and brought up right here in Dubai.
So he was pleasantly surprised to see another Pakistani fella with a Christian background as well. It was a big deal for him because Christians, as well as followers of other religions are a minority in a predominantly Muslim Pakistan, so the chances of two non-Muslim Pakistanis crossing paths is quite rare.

Anyway, I showed him the two pictures that I had taken in my Ninja Fail mode....
He was quite pleased with how they turned out and was kind enough to say that he didn't see me taking them.
I took a few more portraits, exchanged phone numbers, email, and then we went our separate ways.
