Hmm, my electronic dictionary tells me that ephemeral means "short-lived", "passing", or, zoologically speaking, he would belong to the "Ephemeriden", which again means short-lived, like a mayfly! Do you keep something hidden from us here? Was he run over by a bus shortly after you've taken that picture? If so, then thank you that you spared us from having to look at the mess. Or was he, despite his sporty run, late for a business meeting and therefore sacked, so his only option was to drown himself in the gulf? I'm sure you won't tell. :-)

Trippy was in a discount mood when he said "20 Dollar words". Something like epehemeral is at least worth a whopping 50 Dollars. Must be, because the purchase price of my dictionary was surely way above 20 Dollars.

Anyway, you got him before he was damaged or could do any damage to himself. :D

Ephemeral means, 'Lasting for a very short time' - "short-lived" as you've correctly stated.
Ephemeriden is German for 'Ephemeris' which is 'A table or data file giving the calculated positions of a celestial object at regular intervals throughout a period' - well.... that's what my free Google dictionary tells me. :lol:
