Souad Massi - Raoui (Storyteller)
Raoui is a title song from the 2001 album by Algerian born, Paris based singer, Souad Massi.A song that I've remained in love with ever since I first stumbled upon it back in 2004,while I was chimping over this newly discovered thing known as "Internet Radio".(I live under a rock. I know.)Even though I didn't understand the language, I was deeply moved by the musicand it quickly became one of my all time favorite songs.I still shake my head in disbelief that Raoui was included in the surprisingly excellent soundtrack
for that 2o12 god-awful movie , The Dictator .The song is in Algerian Arabic and the English translation is the closest in expressionand feel to the actual song that I was able to find online.I hope you enjoyed this little presentation.Over and out!
