Solitary

The first thing I noticed in this picture was the colors - the pure blue and three different shades of yellow. Then the silhouette jumped out at me - this was the best part of the picture, that small delay before noticing her.

The other good thing in the photo is the different textures - from the smooth black silhouette, to the rough wall on the right, the less rough wall on the left, and finally the carved elements in the background.

The part I liked less well was the way the lines work - there are a lot of them, and they have the potential to make this a great picture. but the primary lines of the roofs of the buildings are sloping down to the right. is this intentional? The poles and pipes and TV antenna have the potential to interact nicely with each other but from this particular angle they are neither parallel or perpendicular.

In all, its a very nice photo - the colors, textures and element of surprise all work. A slightly different use of the lines would elevate it even more.
